“Tiara….these pictures are amazing! Thank you so much for everything!
I can’t thank you enough for this whole experience. Being a newbie, I had no idea what to expect during a boudoir shoot. I can remember being so nervous the night before…How would I look? Did I bring the right lingerie? Will I be too shy to do these….how do I know how to pose without feeling ridiculous ?!?!
Well girl, I felt completely at ease and comfortable within seconds of meeting you! You have this genuine, patient, kindness that helped coax me into this confident sexy woman..I look back at these pictures and I can’t believe it’s me! I truly felt beautiful and sexy..The whole day was amazing!
As a busy, working, wife and mother of three, sometimes “ME” time is hard to find..and to find it without guilt that I should be tidying, doing laundry or something else is even harder! I’m sure most moms can agree. But this whole experience was for ME and I definitely don’t feel guilty about it now. It was so wonderful being pampered…Hair… Makeup (Taryn was lovely, btw) and having the day just doing something for myself. I felt fabulous!
I’ve always wanted to compete in a fitness competition for years. I love training and taking care of my health and body but things just never seemed like a good time..babies..work..life in general. This year, I realized there will never be a perfect time to compete in one, so really, what was I waiting for? This summer, I decided to go for it. And my bikini competition prep started in August.
I’ve always admired your work. I’ve liked your pages on Facebook and Instagram for years!! You capture all shapes, sizes and styles of beauty..I love it..it’s so empowering to see other women feel confident and beautiful. Now, after meeting you, I can easily see how you can bring that out in people! This shoot was going to be my reward and obviously one for my husband too, lol ;). I have always wanted to do a boudoir shoot like this and I loved how you were able to tie in my fitness aspect, as well. It was so fun. I’ve put so much time and effort into reaching this goal, I wanted to make sure I captured how I felt..these pictures say it all! I couldn’t be more grateful!
Thank you! xx”
“Tiara and I first connected as wedding photographers. She hired me to assist her for a wedding, and we instantly clicked. She’s the type of person you feel like you’ve known forever after talking to her for a few minutes.
As a photographer, it’s not often I’m on the other side of the camera, and truth be told, I tend to freeze up when I am. Tiara has such a calmness in her demeanor that instantly relaxes you. She made it so natural and easy to feel comfortable in front of her lens, and the photos definitely reflect that. She somehow managed to capture all of our best sides, and made the most awkward “drunk-walks” look natural and beautiful. I’m having the most difficult time trying to narrow down my favourites, and I can honestly say (as a photographer myself) that it isn’t often I LOVE every. single. photo. taken of myself. But with these, I really do. These photos capture us perfectly: our connection, our relationship, and our chemistry.
Thank you Tiara, you have such a talent and I’m so honoured to have had you take our photographs!”
“What attracted me to Tiara’s work was the raw vulnerability in her art. As a boudoir photographer myself, I am super choosy about who I hire to photograph me. I was looking to have the moody, and unapologetic sexual side of myself captured and Tiara was able to provide me with a safe place to explore that while capturing some very beautiful imagery. The excitement she exudes during a photo shoot really encourages the subject to push the boundaries of their comfort zone.”
Do you ever get that feeling where it’s like, you’re looking at something and it’s looking right back at you?
These images were shot over a year ago and I’ve yet to share them as I have been holding them close. Something about them really resonates with me. Often, when shooting creatively for me, versus for a client, I find myself within the images. Almost like a collection of self portraits, though not my body, they are a reflection of me. Sharing them makes me feel very vulnerable but also very empowered. There’s something deeply comforting in creating or connecting with something that visually represents how I feel or have felt.
Maybe that’s what I love so much about art! It’s amazing how it can touch you from the inside out and how its affect on you can change over time; depending on your mood or what you’re going through. It can comfort you or it can disturb you. When I find something I love I try to ask myself why… why do I love this? And then my mind wanders to; why did the artist love this? Why did they create it? Where in their mind were they when they created it? Do my reasons connect with their reasons? Am I the only one who does this? Well surely not but either way, now you have a glimpse into what it’s like inside my mind…
If you have any thoughts on this, feel free to share them with me.
Thank you to my model Amy for helping me create these images and for your trust time and time again. xo
A wise person once said that the moment you stop learning is the moment you start dying. Well I want to live insatiably and while a student of the Do More Wear Less Academy there was no shortage of knowledge to fill my proverbial bottomless cup. Many thoughtful mornings with Brianna and one unforgettable afternoon with Ewan later… I’m left feeling inspired with vigor to put it all to work. I have the utmost respect and gratitude to them both for not only the wisdom they’ve shared with me and my business but for all they continue to do for the industry.
The images from this shoot are from my afternoon shooting one on one with Ewan in Toronto. Ewan’s style is direct with images that push the limits of what’s comfortable sexually and reminds us women can be both sexual and feminine. This session inspired me to question and step out of my own comfort zones and I love that. We were joined by the incredible Edith as our model, who is pretty damn inspiring as well!
It was a beautiful autumn day for a Carleton Place couples session with Natalya & Tom. I’m so excited for these two! Newly engaged and getting married pretty darn soon. I loved every minute of hanging out and shooting this session. Carleton Place has so many fantastic little nooks and crannies. I love it when couples are so adventurous and up for anything. We found a beautiful little trail down to the Mississippi River, admired the limestone and finally played in the leaves under this fantastic Maple tree! Loved it! Wishing you two all the best! xo
An Ottawa Valley couples session with Kate and Eric on their families property near Chichester, Quebec. It was a fun filled adventurous lifestyle session complete with a herd of very questionable cows and delicious golden evening light. I had so much fun exploring the back fields with these two. I can’t wait to see what we get into at their beautiful Northfork Wedding next year. Thanks Kate and Eric, it was a blast creating these images with the two of you! xo
